We spent two weeks in Italy, and our stay here was the highlight of the trip. The property is well kept, the food is delicious, and the team is especially kind, helpful, and professional. We absolutely loved our time here. Thank you for everything!

The views from our windows were classic Tuscany, and everyone we met seemed to truly want their guests to be happy. We’re so grateful we got to spend part of our Italy vacation at Poggio Paradiso. From the moment we walked in, we were offered a drink and any help we needed. It’s a first class resort. Our large room had everything we could need, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise too, with double sinks and counter space, lighted mirrors that were great for makeup, and a large shower with a rain shower head and a seat. We had two breakfasts and dinner during our stay, and all the food was delicious.

We’ve passed Poggio Paradiso - Resort & Spa many times on our trips to Pienza, and since it’s just minutes from where we live, I finally stopped in to have a look. What a lovely surprise. Luigi and Chris welcomed us and kindly showed us around. We stayed for a bite to eat with a view over the rolling Tuscan Hills, and the staff went above and beyond to make our spontaneous visit memorable. Thank you 🙏 This beautiful four-star retreat is tucked away in the Val d'Orcia, with everything you could want for a getaway. The food at L'Olivio Cucina ended up being one of the best parts of our stay. We’d thought we might eat in nearby towns, but after our first dinner we didn’t want to go anywhere else. The pasta is made fresh in-house, and the seasonal menu has lots of variety, fresh ingredients, creative presentation, and excellent value. The wine was great too. We were also there for the opening of the spa, where you can book the entire space privately for a set time. It includes massage, a salt room, sauna, aromatherapy shower, red light therapy, and a meditation room with guided meditation headsets. A great experience to share with your partner. My wife and I spent five nights at Poggio, and it ranks among my best stays in Europe after many trips around the world and several visits to Italy. The extensive recent renovation kept the Tuscan charm while adding the elegance you’d expect from a five-star hotel. Our suite was spacious and beautifully appointed, the bathroom was excellent, and the grounds and views made for a relaxing holiday. It was easy to reach by train. We arrived in Florence and left from Rome, with only a short drive from the station to the property. From there, Montepulciano, Siena, and Pienza made easy day trips. We used the hotel as a base and visited a different town each day. After seeing the major tourist cities before, we really enjoyed the slower pace. The staff, Chris, Luigi, Marco, Pierro, and Ermenia, were excellent and went out of their way to make everything feel perfect. With the small property and attentive staff, it felt like a fully staffed private villa. They arranged a private wine tasting, booked us a golf tee time at a beautiful course, and gave us spot-on lunch recommendations in each town. I almost kept this place to myself for friends and family, but with just eight suites it’s bound to become a favorite. Whether you stay one night or five like we did, it’s a great option when traveling through Tuscany.
