Blau Cala Moresca

We left the resort right away and chose not to spend any more money there after the way reception handled our checkout. Before 10 a.m. on Sunday, we went to ask for help getting our luggage from our room. The receptionist said we should have booked assistance the day before and that all the slots were already full. That didn't make sense to us. If we'd asked earlier, would it have been full then too? We hadn't been told about this at check-in, and the receptionist made no effort to help. The paths aren't suitable for dragging suitcases, and our room was several levels up from reception. We had to carry everything down ourselves. This is no way to treat guests, especially two women. There's a video attached. The receptionist's flat response left a bad feeling. We made an official complaint at the hotel, but haven't received any response by email either.

The scenery is beautiful, but it doesn't make up for the poor standards we experienced. My mother and I have both worked in hotels and customer service for many years, and while we know places differ around the world, this was something else. Most of the staff seemed unfriendly and miserable. Ricardo, Andrea, and Mattia were the exceptions, and our only warm interactions. Our room wasn't clean. We found long dark hairs in the bathroom and on the bed, the toilet lid and shower hadn't been wiped, and the shower was covered in watermarks. There was a lot of dust, and the bathroom fittings, including the toilet paper holder, were in poor shape. No face cloths were provided. I understand this is an “eco hotel”, but still. We told the front desk about the cleanliness and got very little concern in response. There was also no way to make coffee or tea in the room, which disappointed us. The mattress was incredibly uncomfortable. The food was shockingly poor too: the breakfast buffet wasn't good, and the restaurant we tried served bland food with no seasoning. After travelling from the other side of the world, this was a truly disappointing experience, especially since we thought it would be the highlight of our trip.

We were surprised to learn that children couldn't enter the spa. This restriction wasn't mentioned or shared with us beforehand, so the hotel should make it clear that the spa is for adults only. The location is great, the rooms are clean, and there are plenty of facilities around the park.

The resort covers about 30 hectares, and an ecobus keeps circulating so you can spend half a day on a different beach. It's a peaceful oasis, with lovely beaches, wild animals, and quiet corners overlooking the sea. It was named the best resort of its kind, and I think it deserves the award. Every evening brings cultural events and live music at the bar. Meals are buffet-style, with a huge selection of great food, plus unlimited soft drinks, beer, and wine. The employees are all very friendly and work hard to make guests happy. There's really nothing I can fault here. We're seriously thinking about coming back. Much praise and respect to everyone who helps run the resort.
