The host was nice, the house was spacious, and breakfast was good.

The room was clean, but it faced the main road, and early in the morning we could hear street-cleaning trucks and cars. The entrance was cluttered with boxes, bags, and bicycles. We booked through Booking.com with breakfast included, but on arrival the owner said it wasn't included. She had us cancel the booking straight away to qualify for breakfast, and payment was in cash. Breakfast was at the café-pastry shop next door, which Cecilia also owns. There was a good range of croissants, along with coffee, cappuccino, or milk. When we asked for fruit juice, we were told it wasn't included and would cost extra. It was a decent stay, but for the same amount we paid under the table, better options are available.

Just to be clear, my review is about Mrs. Cecilia's other property, where I stayed, not "Il Leccio." There were good points and things that could be improved. Mrs. Cecilia was kind and helpful, and the downstairs rooms were cute, one pink, one blue, and one green. One upstairs room was very basic and needed a wardrobe and a small table or desk. When we asked to switch rooms, they did it right away, brought our suitcases downstairs, and provided cotton sheets. The pink/purple room had what we needed, though luggage racks would help. The bathrooms could also use more hooks for hanging things, in addition to the two shower towels. The kitchen was really only useful for the refrigerator. The heat was unbearable, and the table was always full, so even though we knew we couldn't cook and the lady kindly said we could use the table for a snack to avoid eating out all the time, it wasn't practical. Fans to cool the air would help. The kitchen also lacked basic items like a bottle opener and detergent for washing two forks. We ended up buying what we needed, even though those things are useful if you're eating at the beach. The bathroom, on the other hand, had plenty of shampoo and shower gel. The breakfast bar wasn't very close. They had yogurt, but when we asked for cereal yogurt, she said they didn't stock it, even though it was cheap to make. Later, when we stopped going to breakfast because of the distance, she kindly brought four plain yogurts to our place. Overall, it wasn't bad, and with more attention it could be better. One suggestion for next time: don't ask for the remaining payment as soon as guests arrive. Let them have breakfast in peace; once they have their documents, they aren't going to run away. That doesn't make a good first impression. Constructive criticism helps, and thank you for accommodating our requests.

We were told by text that the main building was full and that we'd be placed in alternative accommodation, but nobody mentioned breakfast wasn't included. We paid expecting breakfast, then found out that wasn't the case. The person who checked us in was very rude, repeatedly saying she was in a hurry and that I was wasting her time because I wanted to pay by card and she only took cash. In my humble opinion, customer service calls for the opposite attitude. If you don't want to treat customers well, change careers!

Cecilia's kindness is a big part of what makes B&B Il Leccio such a good choice for a relaxing holiday in Tortolì. The rooms are clean and the location is central, with restaurants, pizzerias, bars, and ice cream shops just a short walk away for when you want a treat. Great value, and definitely worth a stay.
