I wouldn't recommend the Montemare apartment. Mrs. Pina, the owner, came across as arrogant, hysterical, and unreliable, and I felt she handled negotiations unfairly. If she no longer has the interest in running the business, she should hand it to management or choose another line of work.

Giuseppina was always available, and the new rooms were clean, nicely finished, and well equipped. The place is in Tortora's historic center, with lovely views and a quiet setting away from the city bustle. The best beaches around Maratea and Tortora are about a 10-minute drive away. A good choice for a relaxed holiday.
