Hotel Maderno by Double Hospitality

This family-run hotel has a lot of history in its walls. Some rooms have recently been refurbished, while others still have more of a 70s feel. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful, and service-minded. The buffet breakfast is worth recommending, and they also serve lunch and dinner. There's a very nice garden, a great pool, and a children's pond. About half the rooms face a busy street, so there can be some noise. Town facilities are close by, including a supermarket, ports, and more than 10 restaurants, all within a five-minute walk. I think it's very good value and can highly recommend it.

A relaxing hotel with a kind of faded elegance. It's all super clean, though not high-tech or modern. The garden is well maintained, the pool is clean, and there are enough loungers. You're only two minutes from the lake. Breakfast is a continental buffet with hot dishes and plenty of Italian biscuits and cakes. Dinner is a very good four-course meal, and drink prices are reasonable for the region, around the middle of the range. My only quibble was the single room, which felt a bit sad, small, and tucked off to the side like an unwanted relative. Since you're out most of the time, it wasn't a big issue. My travel companion and I were very pleased with the stay.

We booked breakfast and dinner and stayed for three nights. It's a decent, average three-star hotel in Italy, pretty much what you'd expect.

The room was simple, clean, and understated, with a good-looking bathroom and a balcony that had a nice view. The garden and pool were nice, and Lake Garda is very close. Hospitality was first-rate, with very friendly staff, and breakfast was good quality. Dinner, though, was a little disappointing.
