Hotel Milano

We had room 312, fortunately, with two bedrooms and a balcony overlooking the harbour. The location was excellent, and room service came daily. The cleaner also offered to help with any questions we had. We and the other visitors found the food very good, with plenty of choice for gluten-free and vegetarian guests. Desserts were all fresh and replenished well. The owner and staff gave top-class service, especially young Bea in the bar/pool area. Definitely recommend the hotel.

The food was mostly good, although the main course wasn't great on a couple of nights. There were still plenty of other things to eat, and every night had a lovely selection of cakes and ice cream for dessert. We had a balcony room with gorgeous views over Lake Garda. The hotel dates back to the 1800s and has lots of character; it was very well kept. Our room was modern, a good size, and had a walk-in shower. Housekeeping did a good job too.

It's a lovely hotel in a lovely place, but the evening meal you pay for doesn't include any drinks. They charge for bottled water, which most places provide for free, and won't even give you free tap water, though you can get it in your room. So you either eat without a drink or bring your own, unless you want alcohol. Skimping on something as basic as water has earned them a poor review.

Such a shame about the food, especially dinner. Breakfast is a little better, but they don't use any fresh fruit or vegetables, and the evening dessert seems to be made from breakfast leftovers. That's the one bad thing about this hotel. They need a new chef.
