The rooms are clean, modern, and air-conditioned, the location is perfect, and the host is very nice. The B&B is in the Jewish quarter. The host sells a small bottle of water for 1 euro, and you have to ask for a normal amount of toilet paper. Breakfast is included at the nearby Carmelita cafe, and that was a big downside. We sat outside for 10 minutes with a small child, waiting for coffee and a brioche. We went in and politely asked them to be quicker because the baby was crying and our train was about to leave. The man at the coffee machine yelled rudely that he was busy and had lots of customers. We didn’t go back to that unsuitable service. We asked the host to change the breakfast place, and the bar at the museum was perfect, nice and polite. The B&B should choose its subcontractors more carefully, since that downside reflects on them.

As a bicycle tourist, I found this a great place. Call or message the owner on WhatsApp using the listed number, and ask whether there’s a ground-floor room where you can keep your bike. There’s no outdoor space for bikes, and once yours is inside there isn’t much room, so plan to leave it there until you’re ready to go. I arrived muddy, with my bike soaking wet, and the owner didn’t bat an eye. He was super friendly, the room was very nice, and there’s plenty to check out nearby. Thanks very much!

The room was really small and didn’t look like the photos at all.

We arrived to a terrible experience. The person who greeted us offered to give a discount if I canceled the Booking reservation, but then only took 8 euros off the whole stay. I asked about the terrace from the photo, where you could smoke, and was told not to go up to the top floor and to smoke in the street. I went to look anyway, and the terrace shown on the site wasn’t there. I’d paid for breakfast, but was told it wasn’t at the property. Instead, he gave us tickets for a nearby bar, each good for only a miserable coffee or cappuccino with a croissant. I was already annoyed. After the trip, we took off our shoes, and while I looked for slippers for everyone, we noticed the floor was a mess, dusty and dirty. The shelves, lampshades, and mirror were covered in dust, and the sills of both windows, which weren’t balconies, had dirt and earth on them. Behind the toilet there was hair and fur. The room clearly hadn’t been dusted for days, to put it kindly. I had to be at a wedding at 11, so I got up at 6 the next morning to shower and wash my hair. There was no hot water. The innkeeper read my messages and ignored me for about 15 minutes, then angrily told me to let the water run. I did that for a good 20 minutes. He then said the water had run out the night before and I’d have to wait for the sun to heat the panels, with hot water expected at 9. Absurd. The worst part was that he never checked back to see whether it had worked, showed no concern, and didn’t even apologize at the end of the stay. We left after he had taken the money from the first day and disappeared, without a receipt or anything. We left the keys on the stairs. What a shame. It was an experience to forget. We later found out that the property we’d seen on Booking was another one he also had, while this one was a hovel for the poor people who stay just a few days. Some people would be better off looking after sheep than people. Shame.

It’s right in the historic center, but still quiet. The property was beautiful, clean, and had all the comforts, with a handy location for exploring on foot or arriving by train. Breakfast was the one letdown, since it’s served at a nearby bistro.
