Appartamento La Conchiglia

The apartment itself looked just like the photos, freshly renovated and lovely inside, but the arrival and setup made the week really uncomfortable. The entrance was shabby, with a little passageway that didn’t feel reassuring, and there was no proper ventilation. The kitchen opened onto the shared area, while the bedroom was practically on the sidewalk. We were three adults and a two-year-old, and the extra bed was a fold-out sofa in the kitchen, pushed against a damp wall. The owners seemed accommodating, but after 8:00 PM one night the gas ran out. They had no spare tank and said we’d have to wait until the next day to buy one, so the child had an apple for dinner. The air conditioning was in the kitchen, making it freezing there, while the bedroom stayed mild, so sleeping in the kitchen as the owners intended wasn’t really an option. Parking was a mess in the evenings too, since they washed one side of the street at a time and you had to get back early to find a space. I travel a lot and rarely have problems, but I felt anything but comfortable here. I wouldn’t recommend it. The owners should include photos of the outside as well.
