The hostel had a homely feel, and the rooms were very comfortable. Its location is excellent, close to both the port and the bus stations. Check-in was easy. It was only 40% full while we were there, which made things comfortable; it might not feel as easy with more people. There are four or five bathrooms with sinks, plus extra sinks outside, and the lockers are large. The kitchen was nice, and drinking water was free. The main improvement I’d suggest is cleaning the bathrooms twice a day. With so many people using them, they get dirty within hours, especially when people come straight from the beach with sand on their feet.

This was the scariest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. After checking in, I tried to tell myself I was being paranoid, but ended up running out and booking a good hotel nearby. No one was working there; they just gave me a code for the outside door. The bedroom doors wouldn’t lock, and kept opening and closing by themselves. There were lots of bangs and footsteps despite hardly anyone being around. The pillows were covered in mold. It gave abandoned hospital vibes. If Squid Games needs another set, they should come here. Don’t stay here.

The location is great, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It’s very dirty and not social at all. The rooms are huge, with no windows and little privacy, and there aren’t enough lockers for everyone, so you can’t lock your luggage away. There’s no drinking water in the kitchen either, so you have to buy your own.

This is by far the WORST hostel I’ve stayed at in Sicily. The bathrooms were so filthy: water everywhere, hair, sand, dirt on the showers, toilets, and sinks, plus mold and fungus. There was a notice saying the bathrooms would be cleaned from 8:00-8:30, but nobody came. If you drop a towel or any clothing, you’re done for. Staff are almost NEVER at reception. They send information over WhatsUp, and you can call if you need help, but they don’t answer. My bed had no towel, and after I messaged, they told me over WhatsUp to take one from another bed in the room myself, like a towel thief. They also require you to send a photo of your ID, including the ID number, via WhatsApp. That’s confidential information in my country, and I didn’t feel safe being asked for it. I don’t think the hotel has a basis for demanding it. There’s hardly any luggage space and not enough lockers. When I asked about mine on WhatsApp, they said lockers were first come, first served, and if I couldn’t see a free one, there wasn’t one for me. If you’re worried about theft, don’t come here. Water was also dripping from the air conditioning in my room, splashing near my bed. And the beds are awful. Even with a high ceiling and plenty of space, they’re set very low. On the bottom bunk, you can’t even sit up, and you have to crawl in to lie down. The beds creak so much that you can’t sleep, and every move by the person above carries through the room. I’ve stayed in cheaper hostels in Syracuse and Catania that had a higher standard. The location is the only good thing here. Someone should look into this place because it’s scamming people and putting their health at risk with the mold. I feel dirty after using the bathrooms and hope I don’t catch something from staying there.

It’s a small hostel, which made it easy to meet other guests. Everything was very clean, especially considering how much you share, and the staff were nice. It’s also really close to the city center, harbor, and beach.
