L'isola Felice

The apartment has been renovated and is very clean, with free parking available nearby and the city center close by. The host is on hand if needed and gave us all the information we needed when we arrived. I took off a star because the ground-floor apartments have little ventilation and open straight onto the street or patio without security. That means the air conditioning has to stay on all the time.

Shameful. I booked two months ahead and messaged the property on the morning I was due to arrive, but heard nothing back. At 4:00 PM I called to say I was coming, and they told me they had no record of my reservation, even though it had been paid a week earlier. They said a "friend" would meet me and take me to another property instead, but nobody showed up. I don't know whether it was a scam, but this is no way to run a property. With my young daughter, I spent two hours searching for somewhere else, had to pay more, and ended up taking the first place available. Shame on you!

The apartment was comfortable, the host helpful, and the location was great. My only gripe is that the tourist tax was more than Booking.com had indicated.

The owner was available, and the place is close to the center with good public transport. You can use two free city lines, 2 and 10, to get around. There's also a supermarket and fish market nearby.
