Owned by Giovanni, who's over 80, this B&B is in a lovely Sicilian country house from the early 19th century on Etna's south slope. Staying there felt like being a guest in Il Gattopardo. It's a perfect base for Etna excursions, or somewhere to unwind after climbing the volcano. Giovanni can prepare a traditional homemade lunch or dinner if you ask. Great!

Mr. Giovanni welcomes you so warmly, and his fascinating memories from a lifetime add something special to the stay. The B&B is surrounded by nature but still very close to the town center. Rooms are spacious, bright, spotless, and simply furnished in a welcoming way.

There's a big garden that's great for a stroll, and the rooms are spacious with everything you need. It's a beautiful family home with rustic charm, and Giovanni is a delightful, colorful host with plenty of stories to tell. Highly recommended!

A lovely property to look at, with a friendly welcome and clean rooms that have air conditioning and fans. This B&B is in Trecastagni, not far from Mount Etna. You can park inside the property, though the space is very narrow, so a standard car and some maneuvering are needed. The rooms have a handy little fridge, but it would've been nice to find a bottle of water in it. Breakfast is only from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, which is a shame when some other places start as early as 6:00 AM.

Giovanni greeted us with a smile every morning, with fresh croissants, delicious moka coffee, and homemade jams made with fruit from Casa Zuccaro's garden. Breakfast was plentiful. We stayed in Acacia on the first floor, and it had a mountain feel. There was only a small window, but with the help of a shovel we never got too hot and had few mosquitoes. Case Zuccaro is a historic home, and its owner is madly in love with it. We loved chatting with the hosts and guests from all over Italy.
