The management refused to refund the three nights I hadn’t stayed, saying the advertised amount was the five-night minimum and that the homeowner had no obligation to return any of it. That minimum was never explained during booking. I reserved two nights, but was charged €823 for five, and only learned about the five-night rule afterward. I accepted the amount thinking I was getting a high-end luxury apartment. At €400 a night, the place was nowhere near that. It’s tiny, with an old, battered couch, an old kitchen table in the living room, and very cheap kitchen equipment. There’s no air conditioning. The bathroom is decent and fairly new, but very small, and the beds are okay. The terrace is nice and has a great view, though I’ve rented several places in the hills around Garda and Como with similar views, at the right price and from honest people. Those basic shortcomings would have been fine at a fair rate. But €823 for two nights in this apartment is ridiculous, and the undisclosed minimum and refusal to refund made it feel like a scam. Their response made clear to me that people are better off looking elsewhere.
