La Loggia del Castello

At 11 pm, we arrived to find people asleep in one of the rooms we had been told was ours. I’m eight months pregnant, and after sitting on the staircase for 40 minutes trying to reach Booking, the owners still hadn’t replied and we had no solution. Booking said its policy was to wait 24 hours for the owners to respond. We eventually searched the B&B and found an empty room on a second floor. We had booked two rooms for two couples through a popular platform. Since the email only gave details for one room, we called to confirm that our late arrival was okay and that they knew we needed both. They sent the missing room details and said arrival time didn’t matter because it was self check-in. The next morning, just as we started breakfast, the manager (?) came over saying she’d woken up to 10 missed calls. She said it wasn’t their fault someone was in our room and that we’d “managed” to get an even better one. The way she spoke to us felt shameful and aggressive. We paid the full price and chose not to put ourselves through more stress, but I’d suggest she rethink working in hospitality.
