B&B Trieste Plus

The host was very nice and helpful, and the room was a nice little space, though quite dark with no real daylight. Since the shared area they call the kitchen is right outside the door, mornings were loud and sleeping past 6 or 7 a.m. wasn’t really possible. It’s only for picking up the packaged breakfast snacks, like chocolate croissants and cookies, and you can’t cook there. I also didn’t realize it was on the second floor and couldn’t find the door at first. This was the priciest place on my road trip, so I expected more. The value didn’t match the price, though it wasn’t a bad place to stay. It’s dog friendly. AirBnB said there was free parking nearby, but there wasn’t. The train station lot was €14 a day and pretty narrow.

The only thing I’d change is the breakfast, especially if you’re trying to cut down on sugar. Otherwise, it was a lovely, very clean room near the main train station, with decent space and even a wardrobe.

The location is good, and the service was pretty good too. But the beds were quite uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t stay here again. What they call breakfast is really a 24/7 snack bar with unhealthy, prepackaged food.

The location was fantastic, with an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. Checking in was difficult because we don’t speak Italian, and the lady couldn’t understand us. We were nearly turned away, but luckily had printed our confirmation. We were told breakfast was included, but it was just biscuits and a few cakes left in the kitchen for guests. The beds weren’t comfortable, and mine squeaked with every little movement. The shower was a nightmare, swinging between boiling hot and freezing cold. The building is a block of flats where people live, which is apparently normal in the area, but my boyfriend found it very uncomfortable.
