The apartment was charming and had everything we needed, and the owner was kind and attentive. Its central spot also made it easy to get around Trieste without a car, using the efficient public transport. It was our first visit, and we couldn't have picked better accommodation.

Our reservation was canceled for “overbooking,” and the manager told me, “You didn't understand, you're not welcome given your attitude.” The photos on Booking.com had made the property look wonderful, but I never got to stay there. I had booked for two people. The listing described a bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed in the living room. When the manager asked whether we were a couple, I explained that although there were two of us, we needed both beds because we sleep separately. I was then told there would be an extra charge of 7 euros. I couldn't see that fee mentioned anywhere, so I contacted customer service. They confirmed that the extra 7 euros wasn't due, and I sent the manager a screenshot to show I hadn't made it up. I won't go into every detail, but I ended up without an apartment. The manager may have been annoyed that I'd shared my problems in a review. Fortunately, I'd already contacted customer service, and they quickly found us a workable alternative. Otherwise, we might have arrived with no one there to welcome us. We're professionals, doctors, office workers and so on, but professionalism can't be bought just anywhere.

The quiet neighborhood and central location added a lot to the stay, and the room itself was lovely, elegantly furnished, and comfortable. Fabio was thoughtful and attentive. When we arrived in the middle of a storm, he let us check in early. It might sound like a small thing, but it really makes a difference to the service. Highly recommended.

The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, and the apartment felt like home. It was clean, well looked after, and close to the station, bus stops, supermarkets, and restaurants. I had a great stay in this simple but welcoming and comfortable two-room apartment. A few improvements would make it perfect for anyone who likes peace and quiet. It's very good value, and I'll definitely come back.
