The staff member who messaged me on WhatsApp was really friendly and helpful, and made my two weeks in Trieste feel comfortable and relaxed. The place is in an old building, taking up just one unit on the second floor, but the interior is nicely decorated and comfortable. My room had a cozy large double bed and good facilities. It was autumn and the heaters weren’t on yet, but staff showed me how to set the air conditioner to warm air, which heated the room well. The bathroom was clean and upscale, with plenty of hot water. I appreciated the welcome set of tea, coffee, and two bottles of water. It’s close to the central train station and within walking distance of Piazza Oberdan, where I could catch various buses. That was especially convenient for my commute.

I booked because the name and description promised luxury, but the room was tiny, dark, and nothing like the photos. The furniture was old and scratched, the walls were dirty and marked, and a musty smell was covered with cheap chemical air fresheners that made the air worse. The bathroom was cramped and shabby, with stains and a dented bin. Exposed wires and poor upkeep gave the place a neglected feel, more like a budget hostel with bedbug vibes than anything luxurious. I left after just 10 minutes, gave up the booking, and paid for another hotel that matched its description. I raised my concerns with staff, but they offered no real solution or compensation. For the price and the luxury promise, it was appalling and felt like a scam. Guests deserve honest descriptions, cleanliness, and a basic standard of quality, and I found none of that here. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

The rooms are spacious, with historic furniture and modern bathrooms, and breakfast was great. It’s very close to the station and near the city center. The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. Recommend!

The coffee was smooth and tasty. It’s in a lovely old traditional house, and the waiter was polite. I absolutely recommend this place 👍
