Punto8

The owner’s warm hospitality is one of the reasons Trieste has become a favorite city of mine. Everything was spotless, and the place is wonderfully peaceful inside a typical Italian mansion. Breakfast is made to suit each guest’s preferences, which says a lot about the personal care here. Punto8 is very central, just 200 meters from the best gelato shop ever, Oggi. I’ve already talked over a clear plan for my next visit with the owner, and whenever I need a place to stay in Trieste, this is where I’ll book.

We’d happily choose Punto 8 again. The sights in Triest are all within walking distance, and the owner was so friendly and gave us useful tips. For my birthday he surprised me with a croissant and candles, which was so sweet. Thanks again for the lovely welcome.

After a couple of not-so-great nights elsewhere, this clean room with everything needed for a comfortable stay was a real relief. The air conditioner was quiet and cool, and street noise didn’t disturb me. Walter is a wonderful person with a big heart and a broad outlook, and his English is excellent. All the good reviews are true. I woke up rested and headed to Miramare, where the fairytale feeling carried on!..

We usually book at the last minute, and found this place by chance. There were three of us adults and we had two rooms. Walter greeted us warmly and showed us where everything was. Since he cleans the rooms himself, they’re usually not ready before 5 pm, so we had a drink at a nearby coffee shop first. The rooms were beautifully furnished, extremely clean and very quiet, with ours looking onto a peaceful courtyard. We enjoyed a walking tour of the city and dinner, then had breakfast made to order: cold cuts, cheese, bread, coffee and a huge filled croissant. Parking is tricky and costs extra, though it’s affordable and feels safe. We had a really nice, long chat with Walter. Absolutely recommend!
