Such a peaceful, happy place, with really nice and friendly hosts!

We stayed a few years ago and felt uncomfortable from the start. The room was stuffy and full of mosquitoes, with no mosquito nets. When we complained, the owner seriously said we had to choose between mosquitoes and stuffy air. The room and bathroom were both badly outdated and nowhere near worth the price. We left two nights early because there was no way to relax, and they refused a refund or any understanding. Absolutely not recommended.

The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and Nicoletta and Sergio made me feel at home. They chatted with me over breakfast and gave me tips on places to see and eat. I was traveling alone and stayed in the double room for single use. It was spacious and had its own bathroom, plus tea-making facilities and a city map. There are two rooms, one double and one triple. The villa has private parking, which is a must in Trieste. It’s a five-minute walk from the train station and around fifteen minutes from the city center, or you can catch a bus from the stop right outside the house. My stay was excellent. I’ve recommended it to everyone I know, and when I return to Trieste I’ll definitely call again. Thanks for everything!

The location is excellent, but that was the main upside for me. The beds were cheap, badly placed cots with old spring mattresses from 2021, only 190x80cm, and extremely uncomfortable. I barely slept, and the room really doesn’t suit a couple or a family with a child. It could be difficult for average-build or older guests too. There’s a musty smell downstairs, apparently from the natural stone foundation, and the ground floor feels a bit damp. The bathroom has had some updates, but several things are loose or awkward to use: a floor tile, the bidet, and the shower soap dish. You can see the owners have tried to renovate, though the work wasn’t done properly. It’s also strange that the breakfast room can only be used from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The house rules feel unclear. Given the state of the beds and the price, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
