Vis a Vis Apartments

The rooms are truly beautiful to look at, and breakfast was really great for Italy, but there were a lot of drawbacks. My room, no. 3, had extremely weak, basically nonexistent air conditioning, so I had to open the window onto a very noisy street. The telephone didn't work, and the reception number seemed different from the one listed on the phone. The whirlpool didn't work either, mainly because I couldn't fill the tub: too little water came in, and it drained quickly because I couldn't seal the plug properly. There is no reception in this wing, so check-in and breakfast mean going across the street to the Grand Hotel. There is no room service at all. I felt unwell that evening and the weather was awful, but still had to go out to find a pizzeria and bring food back to my room. I hadn't expected that from a hotel of this class.

We're here now, past the 3 pm check-in time, and our rooms still aren't ready. The reception gave us attitude when we asked why they were late, and they aren't extending checkout as a courtesy. There's also active construction and loud noise.

A very nice hotel right downtown in Trieste. Everything you'd want to see or try is just steps away, and the hospitality is top-notch.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is very clean and well placed in the city center near the port. Still, parking wasn’t available as they had promised, and I don’t think the stay was good value for the money.
