The food was wonderful, simple and packed with gorgeous Italian flavor. We only booked one night at short notice, and would have stayed longer if the next night hadn't already been full. Up on a steep hill, the place has lovely views, but what really settled me was how quiet it was, with just cowbells and wind through the trees. The hosts couldn't have been more helpful, and even Charlie, their six-month-old German shepherd, was impeccably behaved. The pool is a good size, with plenty of room to stretch out. I relaxed within minutes, and I'm coming back.

Dinner was a highlight: the local food and wines were all delicious. The room was clean, the host welcoming, and the farm itself beautifully kept. Set in nature with mountain views, it's a really lovely, peaceful place. We had an amazing stay and will definitely return. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Maria Giovanna's cooking will spoil you, and Peppino and daughter Andreana do everything they can to make guests feel welcome. The family has the same character as the place, authentic and warm, and such a pleasure to be around. It's wonderfully quiet here, with nature as the soundtrack, unless someone is taking a swim in the pool. What a great place to stay.

We spent a week here with our two children, surrounded by greenery in the most magical setting. The hosts were amazing, and we enjoyed very good breakfasts and dinner in the restaurant. Don't think twice about booking this wonderful place as a base for exploring the Basilcata region.

The countryside here was so relaxing, and the family hosting us at la Foresteria were very friendly. Mom cooked a delicious dinner at a reasonable price. It's a beautiful mountain location for exploring Basilicata, close to Pietrapertosa and Castelmezzano, and within reach of Aliano, where Carlo Levi stayed, as well as the lovely sandy beaches at Metaponto.
