What makes this place so special is the people running it, as well as the lovely room. We felt completely satisfied: our room was spacious, clean, and beautiful, and the food was five-star. They made us feel like family and looked after us so well. The location is spectacular, surrounded by mountains, and you feel like a small part of nature. It's a place to get your life back in balance, and the hotel is a big part of that experience. Breakfast combines self-service with personal attention, and there's something for everyone. We loved it. We thought we'd try the local restaurants, but the four-course dinner on our first night changed our minds. The cook, who is also a joint owner, is superb. Having eaten at two-star M places, I'd put his cooking in the one-to-two-star range, no question. Every plate was perfection. I didn't want to leave. For value, I'd score it a strong 9-plus out of 10. There's no swimming pool, but that's fine.

I came with the ski club from Le Locle Switzerland some years ago, and we had a great time. The rooms were clean and beautiful, and the cooking was excellent. What really made it special was the family-friendly staff. Mrs. Franzelin even asked what we'd like her to make for dinner. Every meal was so delicious. My best regards to this kind lady. Trudi
