B&B Solandra

B&B Solandra was such a relaxing place to stay, and I loved it. The owners are really sweet, the rooms are lovely, and the location is great. From my room I could see the sea, and in the morning there were olive and lime trees outside. The neighborhood is mostly houses and gardens, with a closed church. The Old Town, viewpoints, restaurants, and shops are 5-10 minutes away on foot. Two large supermarkets and a bank with an ATM are 20 minutes away, and the Tripea railway station is a 10-minute walk. The apartments are in one building: the owners stay downstairs, and the rooms upstairs have their own entrance. My room, number 4, was spacious and perfect for me. Some rooms have a balcony or terrace; mine had a “french” balcony, air conditioning, an ensuite bathroom, a comfortable bed, and a TV with Italian channels. There was also a big closet and a safe. The rooms are super clean and checked every day. The owner kindly left a kettle for me so I could have tea in the evening. Breakfast is served in a small building across from the main one, and that space is only open from 8:30-10:00. There was bread, cheese, ham, tomatoes, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juices, tea, coffee, and sweets. The breakfast room is a former bar where breakfast used to be served. The owners are lovely. They don’t speak English, but Francesco uses WhatsUp and Google translator to send messages in your native language, which is so cute. I had a really relaxing stay and hope I can come back one day.

Francesco was extremely helpful and reliable throughout our stay. He helped with everything we needed and gave us great tips on getting around and who to contact for excursions. The property is clean and well maintained, in a strategic spot just steps from the center, yet peaceful enough to relax. For us, it’s a point of reference in Tropea. Thanks, Francesco!

Francesco made us feel like family, and whenever something came up, he was ready to sort it out. The rooms are fresh, clean, and welcoming. It’s a quiet spot away from traffic, yet only a five-minute walk to the center. I’d happily come back soon.
