Palazzo Mottola Tropea

Palazzo Mottola gave us a fantastic stay, with wonderful views and rooms that were spotless. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, with the best ocean views in Tropea. Saverio made us feel welcome and offered useful recommendations and help with reservations. We also loved having aperitivo on the rooftop terrace as the sun set. We’ll definitely return. Thanks to Saverio and the team for making it such a memorable visit!

The view from the veranda was spectacular, and the rooftop bar looked even more stunning. Breakfast was included each morning, with lots of tasty choices, from frittata and pastries to fruit and yogurt. Rosa kept the rooms very clean and came by twice a day. There’s no elevator, but when we checked in, Saverio kindly had us sit on the veranda overlooking the ocean with Prosecco while he carried our bags upstairs. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Saverio and Giuseppe arranged taxis for us and offered to book restaurants too. Some nearby bars and restaurants could make nights noisy, but we still thought the hotel was well worth it. The beach is about a 15-minute walk with quite a few steps. That’s likely the case wherever you stay, since most hotels are above the beach.

A mix-up became one of our favorite moments in Tropea. We thought we’d booked an aperitivo, but it turned out we had the wrong hotel and the reservation was somewhere else. The staff at Hotel Palazzo Mottola welcomed us anyway and invited us to their beautiful rooftop terrace. The views were stunning, the snacks were delicious, the playlist was just right, and everyone was warm and attentive. We felt so comfortable that we returned the next evening. An unforgettable moment from our stay in Tropea. Sometimes the nicest memories come from unexpected turns. A huge thank you to the owners and staff. The views and location are incredible, and the service from the front desk through breakfast was exceptional. We booked two rooms, one for our boys and one for my husband and me. Ours was a suite with a sitting area, very clean and beautifully furnished, with high-end soaps and toiletries provided. Breakfast was included, and the whole place felt luxurious. The photos and videos show just how amazing it is, since a written review can’t do it justice. One thing to plan for: you can’t drive right up to the hotel because it’s at the top of the hill on a restricted road. If you’re driving, parking is 1-2 km away, and they can provide a driver. The details are on their website or you can call them. A must if you want luxury and outstanding views and location.
