The washing machine was useful, and the location worked well for evening walks and for getting down to the beach, since the steps are nearby. Still, think carefully about staying in central Tropea if the beach is your goal, since it means 105 steps down and 105 steps back up. There's a restaurant nearby, but we didn't try it because its prices were among the most expensive. The apartment had several drawbacks for us. The spiral staircase was so narrow and awkward that we left our suitcases in the kitchen downstairs. Someone very overweight or with even mild disabilities would also have trouble with it. In the kitchen, there was a gas cylinder and some broken burner controls that felt unsafe. The bathroom door opens beside the kitchen, and its tiny window meant bad smells carried into that room. Upstairs, the wooden beams looked charming in the photos but were poorly maintained and dusty. There was very little natural light, so we had to leave the door open for light and air, which could let insects in because there are no mosquito nets on the lower floor. The drying rack wouldn't fit on the balcony, so it had to go outside the door where it might bother the neighbors. Parking isn't included, and costs €20 per day, along with groceries. The free parking is about 600 meters away, and because the house is in the historic center's restricted traffic zone (ZTL), you'd have to carry all your bags. I'd think carefully before booking.

The host's hospitality was what I loved most. I stayed here throughout my time in Tropea, and the apartment I was given was clean and welcoming. It had two floors, with a small entry hall, kitchen, and bathroom downstairs, and an air-conditioned bedroom upstairs. It's right in central Tropea, convenient if you want to go out at night and reach the city center easily.

The service was excellent. They drove me to the property in private transport and carried my luggage both to my room and when I left. It's a new, very clean place in a strategic spot at the heart of Tropea, just steps from the beach on a back street off the busy area. The managers clearly do their work with care and passion. I recommend it to everyone and will return. Kudos to them. 👍

We lost two vacation days sorting out another place to stay, and €400 was gone. The owners made no effort to fix the problem or refund us. The listing photos were misleading, and the place felt like a cellar, not a home: very low ceilings, no windows apart from a tiny bathroom one facing a courtyard only 2 meters from the neighbor. It was unlivable and completely non-compliant, especially for a vacation. We had to pay somewhere else. A scam. Never go there.
