Al Porta Susa B&B

Marco was such a friendly host, and we hope to return. After arriving at Milan Porta Susa and crossing busy Corso Inghilterra, we were relieved to find the B&B only a short walk away, a peaceful haven. The elegant apartment had what we needed for two nights. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the separate bathroom was modern and spotless. The city center is walkable, and there’s a Carrefour nearby. Downstairs, the restaurant had a great selection of local food, and the staff were friendly and helpful with non-Italian speakers. We stayed at the Al Porta Susa for four nights with my older daughter. Mr. Marco, the owner, treated us with great warmth and kindness, and we’re very grateful for his sincerity. The room and bathroom were clean and hygienic. It’s very close to both the city center and the university. I’d strongly recommend staying here. A presto.

Marco was a great host, and the room was amazing, in a beautiful apartment full of original 19th-century features. Everything was super clean, including the modern private bathroom. It’s handy for Porta Susa train station, buses, and the metro. We also really enjoyed the restaurant on the ground floor, and the staff at the nearby cafè and pizza place were friendly and helpful. I won’t stay in a hotel again when I’m in Turin!

Marco was a lovely host, gave me good tips for a market and an area with good restaurants, and even let me practise my basic Italian instead of switching to another language. You get keys, so you can come and go whenever you like, day or night. The B&B is in a charming 19th-century building, and my room felt just the right size for one person, though it can sleep two. The high ceiling made it feel bigger. As advertised, the bathroom is across the hall. It’s central, about 300m from the entrance to Porta Susa station, close to the metro, buses and trams, and within walking distance of many city center attractions. Breakfast is at the bar next door. At first I was surprised, since an Italian bar is where people stop for coffee before work or on a break, rather than a drinking spot, but I loved getting that glimpse of everyday Italian life. The only small downside was the busy Corso Inghilterra outside, even late at night. You can't hear the underground station. I'd happily recommend this place!
