After I booked, the hotel messaged me on WhatsApp saying they couldn’t host my reservation and had already contacted Booking.com to arrange a cancellation. They said Booking.com would soon get in touch with compensation or another property, but I never heard from Booking.com. Worried I’d be charged for a stay the hotel wouldn’t honor, I cancelled the booking myself. Soon afterward, the same room appeared available again, but the price had gone up from €46 to €81. That made it seem like availability wasn’t the problem, and that the room was being relisted at a higher price. When I contacted Booking.com, they told me the hotel had never contacted them, despite what I’d been told. Since I had cancelled myself, they said they couldn’t compensate me, and advised me not to cancel on my own next time. I messaged the hotel again on WhatsApp asking for an explanation and warning that false claims and price manipulation could get its account reported or suspended. They never replied. It was a dishonest and frustrating experience. I believe the hotel deliberately misled me into cancelling so it could raise the price. I strongly advise other travelers to be careful and avoid this property.

Breakfast was included and tasty, though it was simple, just coffee and a cornetto. Blunotte Hotel is right in the city center, and the self-check-in was convenient and kind of fun. Our room got natural light and the bathroom was clean. The AC worked very well, although they’d forgotten to leave the remote at first. We found it at reception. The TV setup was wrong initially, but we managed to fix it ourselves.

The location is handy, close to the city center, but the booking price felt very overrated. Cleaning was only superficial. There were cobwebs in the corners, mold in the bathroom, a dirty shower screen, and a shower head that leaked because it was broken. The bedroom floor tiles move around and aren’t fixed together properly. Renovations in the building made horrible noise from early in the morning.

The place was clean and welcoming, and it was easy to check in and out. There wasn’t any staff there when I arrived, so I called and used the code sent by email to get the keys. Its strategic location made it easy for me to explore Turin, and it’s very close to the Egyptian Museum, the Mole Antonelliana, Piazza Castello, and other sights. There’s a supermarket nearby, plus shops, bars, and nightlife. I had a great stay and recommend it.
