Giardini Reali

Walking through this clean, pleasant garden was really enjoyable. The fountain water could have looked nicer, but the rest was well kept, perhaps because the whole area is enclosed and locked at night. Keep track of where the exit is, though. With the fence around it, you can’t leave from just anywhere like in other parts of a park.

The Equine gallery was the most amazing part for me. Every room shows incredible craftsmanship, and I’d love to return to admire the collection of Treasures again and spot details I missed. The luxurious rooms feel like stepping into another era, with exquisite antiquities and gold plated Frescos covered in intricate scenes, from angels and lands to war and discoveries. It really is like entering a different world.

There isn’t enough to keep you there for long, and much of the place works best as a spot for photography. Even so, the Royal Gardens of Turin are lovely for a relaxing break after touring the Palazzo Reale, and I recommend visiting. I wish there were more to see, though many areas are closed while renovations are underway.

On my return visit, I was happy to see the gardens looking better, with improvements still continuing. I first came two years ago and wondered then why they weren’t cared for more. The gardens, royal palace, library, portrait rooms, and especially The Shroud Chapel are all must-sees.
