Hotel Lancaster

Breakfast was pretty good, with several choices including some vegan options. The hotel is also really close to the train station and several bus stops. If you're booking through Booking, check the taxes carefully, because some are collected on site and Booking won't tell you.

The bed and pillow were soft and comfortable, and the location was handy, just three tram stops from the city center. But the tram runs right outside, and you can clearly hear it in the room, which made it hard to sleep. The reception staff weren't helpful at all, even with basic suggestions for places to eat. One staff member also had a noticeable odor. Heating was available only from 17:00 until midnight, which was unacceptable with 2°C outside. After midnight the room got extremely cold. Breakfast was disappointing too, with only the bare minimum: one type of cheese and one type of salami.

The staff were courteous and very friendly, and the breakfast was the best, typically Italian. I stayed overnight and found the rooms cosy and comfortable, with nothing to worry about. Out of the many options, this hotel felt like good value for money. I'd rate it the best at an affordable price.

Clean, cosy and old-fashioned, with friendly staff. Breakfast was lovely in a nice bistro-like setting. The hotel is very close to the tram stop for the city center, so it's a good base for exploring.
