Monteforte Suite & Spa

Right in the heart of Ugento, this was an amazing stay. The fully renovated accommodation feels welcoming and is spread across two floors, with six suites that have all the comforts you could need. My bathroom even had a jacuzzi bath. The hotel also has a high-level restaurant with a sophisticated menu and a remarkable wine list. You can choose either a tasting menu or order à la carte.

Salvatore and his family made our week at Monforte special. My husband, our 5-year-old son, and I were sad to leave. Christian, the hotel manager, was incredibly helpful and did his best to meet any request. Salvatore shared so many useful tips, from beaches to visit to places to eat. We tried some of the best restaurants in Salento thanks to him, and his advice helped make the holiday unique. We travel a lot for work and pleasure, and I rarely make time to review places. But this is a special gem that can be hard to find otherwise. One of the best places to spend a holiday in Puglia/Salento. Highly, highly recommended!

We enjoyed free entry to Lido Pineta for a few days of sunbathing, and there was plenty of free street parking. The owner and staff were very attentive, and served a great breakfast each morning on the roof terrace. The resort is in a beautifully restored and decorated building right in the heart of old Ugento. Very recommended.

We had a stunning two-bedroom room, with a king-sized bed in one bedroom and a single bed in the other. It also had a fireplace and a large bathroom with a double whirlpool. Breakfast was filling every morning. The accommodations are absolutely beautiful, very close to Ugento Castle and just a short walk from the town’s shops.
