The town itself is tiny, with little to see, though there’s a supermarket and a few restaurants. We liked the quiet residential setting, and I Mestri was well placed for exploring: Otranto, with lots of shops and restaurants, is a 10-minute drive, Baia dei Turchi is 20 minutes away, and Lecce takes 45 minutes. We spent nine perfect nights here. Cinzia is a lovely host who made sure we had what we needed from the moment we arrived. The hotel stands on land that’s been in her family for generations, and it’s clearly cared for. Our apartment was probably the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed, the beds had great firm mattresses, and the garden and pool were top notch. You do have to wear a swim cap for hygiene, but that didn’t spoil the experience. We highly recommend staying here.

We’ve stayed here twice now. It’s clean and peaceful, with shops and restaurants within walking distance, and a lovely pool. A good base for exploring the region, and close to town. Cinzia is always around if you need a hand.

Cinzia was discreet but very helpful, and we couldn’t have picked a better base for discovering Salento. Otranto is only 5 km away, while the town’s shops and supermarkets are an easy walk from the residence. The beaches and local attractions are convenient to reach too. There are twelve new apartments, each equipped with every comfort, with lots of thought put into making a holiday feel easy. Covered parking is available and the pool was always clean. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Salento!
