Agriturismo Monte Acuto

We were in Umbria for a destination wedding and didn’t have a rental car, but the owners drove us wherever we needed to go. They also made fresh homemade breakfast every morning, which felt like such a treat. The place is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The owners were awesome, and I’d recommend staying here.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and there’s on site parking. Our second visit this year was a week in early June, when the weather was unusually bad. Luckily the pool is heated, so we could still use it. We stayed in the spacious, self contained apartment at the back of the classic Umbrian stone and wood building. It was clean and comfortable, with the plumbing and electrics working fine. The agriturismo is quiet, with birdsong, owls, wildlife, and flowers around. It has a great view over the valley and is well placed for local walks and Monte Acuto, with quick, easy access by car to Umbertide. A relaxing and pleasant place to stay.

Sandra and Simone were wonderful hosts, kind and always available without intruding. Sandra bakes croissants and bread every day, which you can order the day before for a chosen delivery time, and there’s also a typical sweet Italian breakfast. Simone farms his own olives and makes excellent olive oil, available to buy in several sizes, along with other local specialties. They even surprised my son with a birthday cake after noticing the birthdays on our IDs. The whole property is beautifully set on Monte Acuto, with great valley and mountain views and lovely evening walks. The houses are old, original farm buildings in a typical Tuscan Umbrian style, renovated and maintained with care. Everything felt well designed and very well organized. The rooms were large, beautifully decorated, and extremely clean, with comfortable furnishings, good equipment, and high quality towels, including pool towels. The bedding was also excellent, at least four star hotel quality. The pool is heated to a steady 30C, which is a real treat in Umbria, where the mountain weather can be unpredictable, especially at night. Internet was excellent by Italian standards, reaching up to 30mb/s inside and outside the apartments. HBO and Netflix worked at full quality without connection problems, and the hot water was instant. Fantastic value for money. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks for a great holiday, we’ll be back!
