Florence Country Residence

The Gardena Suite was superb, fully renovated, and very clean. We were there for a family holiday in Tuscany with our three kids, aged 15, 13, and 9. There are two spacious rooms, each with its own bathroom, and new furnishings. One room has a king-size bed and a single bed, the other a king-size bed. There’s a nice living room with two sofas and a dining table, plus a small kitchen with basic equipment. We also enjoyed the infinity pool and cozy garden terrace, where we could have a good glass of wine. The host waited for us when traffic meant we couldn’t get there before 7 pm. Communication by WhatsApp and phone was easy and really helpful, and when family issues meant we had to leave a day early, she helped arrange everything without any fuss. There’s a great restaurant at the residence, with excellent staff and a high-end dinner that was worth the price, though not cheap. It’s in a small village, about a 25-minute scenic drive to Florence city center, 1.5 hours to Siena and Pisa, and one hour to Lucca. We drove ten minutes to Vaglia train station, parked, and took the 25-minute train to Florence’s main station. A great base for the Tuscan hills, relaxing, and visiting tourist spots.
