We were a group of 12 who had booked three days and three nights in the Dolomites. After landing at Venice Airport and arriving in Italy, we called the hotel that evening to confirm we were on our way. We were then told the reservation had been cancelled and that the hotel was closed and not operating. No one had told us beforehand, and no one was expecting us. We had already planned and paid for the trip, but suddenly had nowhere to stay. We spent the night driving around searching for another hotel and ended up sleeping in our car. We only found somewhere else and checked in the next day at around 2:00 PM. It caused enormous stress, ruined part of our vacation, and left us feeling abandoned. Cancelling a reservation without properly notifying guests is unacceptable, especially when they’re arriving late from another country. This was one of our worst travel experiences. We lost time, sleep, and money, as well as our peace of mind, because of the hotel’s lack of communication and responsibility. We wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sporting in Val di Zoldo, and we loved the Dolomites. The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the housekeepers made sure we had what we needed. We had a lovely view from the window and balcony, where we could sunbathe in the morning. The smart TV was a nice extra: at night, before falling asleep, we watched videos about the Dolomites and the tours we planned to do. I also liked making coffee in the room on the espresso machine each morning. We could park and charge our e-bikes in the garage.

The bed was comfortable, breakfast was included and good, and the room was clean with awesome views. My bike was safely locked in the garage. During our 12-day motorcycle tour, this was the best place we stayed. It was easy to find, with an amazing location and really nice views between the best mountains, especially for riders. The host was friendly and easy to communicate with, and gave us good tips about food and the area. We’ll be back for sure. Thanks, Mauro!

We’re finishing a two-week hiking trip in the Italian Dolomites, and Hotel Sporting has been the best hotel we stayed at. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was amazing. It’s in a fantastic spot in Val di Zoldo, with good access to nearby trails, and our room looked out over Civetta. We’ll stay here again on our next visit to Val di Zoldo.

Mauro, our receptionist, was so welcoming and friendly. We had a great stay, and the location was perfect for hikes. The breakfast was the best we’ve had on this trip so far.
