We booked the spa for four on a Tuesday, and it was very relaxing. Towels, robes, and flip flops were provided, and the aperativo was a lovely touch for the evening. There are lots of different pools, saunas, and other spa rooms in a beautiful building. The panoramic pool, with jacuzzi jets and a view over the mountains and Bormio, was stunning. I’d recommend it for a relaxing evening.

I can’t recommend this place. I visited the spa at 5pm on 28th January 2026. Entry was 54 euros per person, and it wasn’t too crowded. An Italian friend had recommended it, but the experience was deeply disappointing. It felt unhygienic, and the customer service was unpleasant. The spa seemed poorly maintained. There appeared to be mildew on the walls, and there were bits of something floating in the water, along with hair. The water felt dirty. We also saw two couples making out in the baths and in the outdoor hot tub. The service at reception was upsetting too. While we waited, the two receptionists giggled, nudged each other, and pointed at our group. When it was our turn, Federica jerked her head to signal us over and gave us a rude expression, as if she smelled something bad. The staff seemed to dislike their jobs and struggled with professionalism. The women’s showers and changing room are far apart. After showering, you have to walk back in a damp bathrobe to a cramped locker room. I’d suggest putting towel and linen returns in the women’s changing room, instead of having guests toss them into an unmarked commercial bin in the lobby. Frederica at the front desk, I hope you read this. When we asked for help, you looked us over, and you rolled your eyes when we requested extra towels. Asking for an extra towel must be something you’ve encountered before, and seems like the bare minimum at a spa. You handed over one towel and sneered when we asked for another, as though it was a huge inconvenience. That was inappropriate. I hope you reflect on your career choices, because hospitality doesn’t seem to suit you. Other guests may notice a pattern in the reviews of poor service to non-Italian guests. Make of that what you will, but I’d think twice before booking.

The baths were as relaxing as ever, and we stayed until the 9:30 PM pool exit. Still, the start of the evening left a bitter taste. We’ve been to QC Terme Bagni Vecchi several times, including exactly a year ago, and this time the “Aperiterme” was a real disappointment. We booked the 7:00 PM entrance, but reception rushed us straight to the aperitivo in our ski clothes. We got there at 7:10 PM and staff were already clearing away. They said they’d been told nobody else was coming, which points to frustratingly poor communication between reception and catering. Previously, I enjoyed a generous buffet with pizza and focaccia. This time we got only a small tray of salami and olives, with no other choices. As the driver, I was also disappointed that there were no non-alcoholic drinks, just beer and prosecco. We didn’t complain during the visit because the entry is expensive, and we didn’t want to spend our limited relaxation time going back and forth with management. If they offer a 7:00 PM slot, the full experience should be available through the end, not packed away early. It’s a shame to pay a premium for something that felt like an afterthought.

The outside infinity pool had a lovely view, and the design and location are very cool and unique. It’s a nice idea, but the spa was packed. Some steam rooms smelled like urine, and the other pools looked murky and dirty. We saw clumps of white fluid floating in several pools. There didn’t seem to be anyone enforcing rules, so people did whatever they wanted in the pools. I’ve been to many thermal baths and never seen anything like this. The baths need cleaning. The cleaning staff did a nice job keeping the floors and bathrooms tidy, with no trash around. I wouldn’t come back, ever.

The rooms were really comfortable, the staff so kind, and the balneario and other services were incredible. The whole setting feels amazing, almost like a fairy tale. It made the place feel magical. One of our best stays, and somewhere everyone should go once in their life.
