The food was fine, though nothing special, and a little expensive, which is understandable at 2,000 metres. I had lunch at the self-service twice with my kids. Both visits, they held up the opening by 20 minutes because two schools had reservations. They should tell people that instead of leaving them waiting in ski clothes and boots.

The pastries were dry and seemed two days old, and the lentil soup tasted like plain boiled lentils with salt and pepper. The pizza wasn't much better: the large Margherita slice cost 4 euros, but nearly 30% of it was just plain baked dough. Add ham and they put it on cold and uncooked, charging another euro. Why not put it all in the oven together? I've always gone to Italy expecting great meals, but this buffet was a complete disaster, worse than even the bleakest Czech buffets I've seen. Maybe they skimp on the salt too. I really doubt many Italians have lunch here. It feels like a tourist trap, so if you're hungry, head back down to town. If you're starving, well, eat here.

At the first cable car station, up at 2,000 metres, there's a big buffet restaurant. Service is quick and there's plenty to choose from. That's about it.
