Armando is a very kind, welcoming host, and his attractive house sits in stunning scenery, with a beautiful garden stretching down to the river. The apartments are lovely and modern, with great facilities. Downstairs there are ski lockers, boot dryers, and some spare ski equipment. He also gave me ski lessons and improved my technique, which I really appreciated after 12 years as a ski instructor myself.

The Stelvio apartment gave us our own way into the garden, where there are picnic spots beside the river. We could keep our bikes in the large garage, and there was private parking too. Inside, the living room was roomy, the beds were very good, and the bathroom had a great shower and everything we needed. Best apartment we've ever rented. Shops and restaurants are about a 1.5-2.5 km walk away.

We were back at La casa di Armando apartments for a second year, this time as six people in the ground-floor apartment. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a good kitchen and living area, plus a big garden with a BBQ and a garage for the bikes. It's a great base for cycling Stelvio, Gavia, Mortirolo and other mountain routes. Heavy rain came down for two days, and with flooding a possibility, the friendly owner Armando organized an evacuation to a nearby hotel really well. Spacious place, ideally located for cyclists.

There's a lovely yard by the river, and the apartments are modern and exceptionally clean. The host is fantastic too. I come back every summer and plan to keep doing so :-)
