The B&B was clean and good value. The hosts were warm and really helpful, and their English was excellent for us tourists. Highly recommend.

It’s a lovely, romantic place with really nice people. It’s quite far from everything, so it’s ideal if you want that kind of getaway.

The winery visit and tasting were part of the Smartbox deal, along with a night and breakfast, but I only learned the tour wasn’t available when I asked how it would work. The hotel had already emailed the stay details. Then, the morning before we were due to arrive, I got an email saying the booking was cancelled, followed by a WhatsApp message blaming family issues. A few hours later my husband called to book the same date through Booking.com, and suddenly a room was available. It seems Smartbox bookings aren’t welcome. Very unserious. I gave one star, though it deserves none.

The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, the heating just right, and breakfast was excellent. It’s about 10 minutes from Valeggio, somewhere very quiet and peaceful. We only spent one night, but were very happy with it. The two owners have traveled a lot and understand hospitality and conviviality. I suspect some people who leave bad reviews haven’t stayed outside Italy and expect a hotel instead of understanding what a B&B is. Thanks for everything.
