Village Camping La Foce

The location is one of La Foce's biggest strengths. Valledoria is only a short walk away, with several shops for souvenirs. The site has a pool for days when you don't feel like going to the beach, and a ferry runs once an hour across the water to reach the sea. Staff are kind and friendly, and there may be nightly parties by the bar terrace when enough people are interested. A shop, restaurant, and bar share one building, each on a different floor. The facilities are why I'm giving it four stars. Toilets, showers, and places to wash your hands or dishes are all in one open building. Most stalls use squat toilets, and most of the western-style toilet cubicles stay locked all the time, probably because of maintenance issues or misuse. There was basically no warm water, which made showering hard if you can't tolerate cold water. Even with those hassles, I enjoyed my stay and would tell people to give it a try. P.S. The staff did let my girlfriend and me in after reception had closed, which was kind of them. But paying €46 for one night in September, off season, with a small tent was a shock. The campsite has no real pitches or nice vegetation, and there was no warm water, soap in the bathrooms, or even toilet paper. For less money, you'd be better off with a cheap air b&b, where you'd have warm water and wouldn't need to bring your own bed.

The pool was fantastic, and both the beach and the sea were great, with lovely warm water. It's a lovely area, and the staff were polite and kind. The accommodation itself could do with modernising.

The setting is great if manure smells don't bother you, but be careful at the bar. Why display a price list if you charge different prices when it's time to pay? The location is good, though many of the facilities urgently need upgrading. The pool is very run down, and some bathrooms are dirty and worn.
