Grandes Murailles

The restaurant was a very nice surprise. We booked at the last minute and stayed over New Year's, when getting a reservation was tricky. The place feels more like an upscale B&B than a hotel, and it was great. Our room was nicely decorated, and I loved the art around the hotel. It's an older building, so the walls are thin. That didn't bother us, but it's good to know, and next time we'd choose a higher-up room to avoid more noise. The staff were wonderful, so kind, helpful, and friendly.

We were in a separate building away from the main hotel, so it was peaceful and we didn't hear anyone. The room had unusually dark walls, but we liked it. For ski gear, there's a 'garage' beside the hotel with storage for skis and snowboards and a shoe dryer. There's a big parking lot nearby, plus a bus stop about 100 meters away. The ride to the ski lift takes just 5-7 minutes. The hotel restaurant does amazing breakfasts, and dinner tables should be booked since it's always busy.

The owner’s art is everywhere, which may or may not be to your taste. The staff were really friendly and the hotel is conveniently located. Our room was clean and nice, though too small for three people. We enjoyed the stay, but it didn't feel like a **** place. I'd avoid the restaurant: the menu didn't feel like Italian food, more like European fusion with too many flavors.

DO NOT BOOK. They give a cancellation cutoff date that's apparently not true, then want to charge the full price for cancelling. The closest train station listed on Expedia (28) is abandoned or impossible to get to, so be prepared to spend around 500 ish on a rental to reach the place. We were really looking forward to our snowboarding and ski trip. To avoid a 300 charge, I reported my card stolen, and now I have little access to my money while overseas. COMPLETE BULLSHIT. I would've loved to go. I've tried contacting the hotel and got no response.
