Punta Margherita

Erika was wonderful at answering all our questions, and the hotel had a friendly, homey feel. It seemed like quite a few locals stayed there too. The town itself is quiet, though half board is available and the food was delicious. Breakfast was tasty as well, with enough choices even though it was the same each day. Getting to the lifts was easy: the ski bus stop is right across the road, and the hotel also runs a private morning transfer to the Valtournenche cable car, with a return ride in the afternoon. There’s parking, plus an outside-access ski room for equipment. It’s a little cramped, but manageable. A spa room is available for 15 euros per hour per person. Our room was warm, with hot shower water and liquid soap. It was cleaned daily, and towels were changed when needed. The TV was small and had only a limited selection of sports channels. The walls are thin, so we could hear the neighbors. I also found there weren’t many power sockets: one was by the door, and the other was used for the TV. It’s best to book through the hotel website ahead of time. In winter it’s usually full, so book well in advance.
