Breakfast is included, and each day the hosts asked what time we’d like it. They’re a lovely couple, he Italian and she Dutch, and between them they speak Dutch, Italian, English, and German. They know the area well and can point you toward things to do that only local Italians tend to know; they’re helpful and flexible with timing. La vecchia valigia itself is beautifully renovated, tidy, and well organized. All three rooms are clean and pleasant, with the same lovely view over picturesque Varallo. There’s a little secluded garden at the back for sun or shade, and parking is easy in their spaces along the path up to the B&B. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the centre, river, station, supermarket, and other places. We had a really nice stay, top marks.

The rooms were spacious, spotless, and very well cared for, with a lovely view of the Sacro Monte di Varallo. Breakfast was plentiful, and the croissants tasted freshly made that day. It’s a peaceful spot in the heart of Valsesia, away from the city bustle but only steps from beautiful Varallo. I’d suggest contacting the owner with any questions; she’s friendly, always available, and happy to help. A five-star stay at B&B prices!

A beautiful, bright, clean room, with a view that takes in the town and the Sacro Monte. The place sits among greenery just a short walk from the centre of Varallo, and the outlook is breathtaking. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, ready to meet any request. I’d happily stay again.

There’s a fantastic panoramic balcony with a table and chairs where you can enjoy the quiet. The rooms are clean and tastefully furnished, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s only a five-minute walk to the centre of Varallo, yet the views over the town and valley are breathtaking. Highly recommended!
