Angolo con Vista in Varenna

That lovely view alone doesn’t earn this place five stars. The stairs are dangerous, and I wouldn’t recommend it for families with children. There’s no air conditioning, so it’s unsuitable when the temperature is 15 degrees Celsius or above. It’s also a poor choice without a car, since there are no taxis, Ubers, or other transport options. The employee, Sara, was very rude. She told me to check in at the office without giving me its address, then raised her voice as if we were staying for free. I contacted her an hour before arrival and was coming by taxi, but once I got there she called to ask why I hadn’t gone to the office. My wife and our children, aged one and four, were left in the sun because Sara wouldn’t come out to hand me the key. I paid for the stay, so why the rudeness? Afterwards, she messaged me saying I’d left the place in bad condition, even though I cleaned it thoroughly and left no mess. She seemed to know I’d write a bad review.

The views are lovely, especially at sunset, and the location is very panoramic. The house was spotless and well equipped. Recommended for a romantic break or for exploring Varenna and the beautiful places around Lake Como.
