We loved the balcony view at Verona Lake View 2, and the sofa bed was comfortable enough. The hair dryer and wifi didn’t work very well, and there’s no elevator, so getting to the room means walking up three floors. Still worth it for us, and we’ll definitely come back.

The location was lovely, which makes the condition of the accommodation all the more disappointing. The floor needed a thorough clean, the duvet was dirty, and we would have liked a mattress protector under the sheets. There were also missing kitchen utensils and basic items such as a clean sponge and trash bags. The bathroom lights didn’t work, and the dining room shutter was broken on the floor, which made for some bad nights. We’ve just left, and it’s a shame the place hasn’t been better maintained.

Varenna is such a beautiful little town, in my view the prettiest on the lake. For a trip from Milan to Lake Como, I’d get to Varenna first, then take the ferry to Bellagio, Menaggio, or wherever else you want to go.
