Mario was great, and Ladian had lovely suggestions for both the menu and the wine. My sister and I also tried a few other cafes and restaurants, but the people at Albergo were especially kind. The hotel is simple and comfortable, with a stunning view that really captures the mountain. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We had a wonderful time.

We could sit on the terrace at Albergo Sacro Monte and take in that spectacular view. The restaurant service was wonderful, and the food was presented beautifully. We loved the resident Labradoor, too. It’s such a great spot on the mountain, and now we’re hoping to come back and stay.

The staff were amazing, always friendly and ready to help. Carmen especially was funny and kept smiling. It’s a peaceful place to unwind, with a lovely view over Varese and the surrounding lakes. The restaurant food is really good, and even better with a nice glass of wine.

A glass of wine on the terrace, with only the wind and crickets for company, is hard to beat. On a clear day you can see as far as Milan, around 70 km away, and the French Alps in the other direction. They also serve fresh food cooked to order, with plenty of drinks to choose from. The service is professional and attentive. Up at the top of Sacro Monte, it feels both exciting to arrive and wonderfully relaxing.

After the long climb to the top, the food and drinks were just what we needed. The terrace has an exceptional view, and the music and atmosphere were great too. There’s also a building with antennas coming out of it nearby. You should look up its story, there’s a cool history behind it.
