Crystal Hotel Varese

The location is good and the staff are friendly. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious, but the rooms feel old and unwelcoming, and it doesn’t meet a four-star standard. For the price it’s okay, especially for a night while passing through. I’d skip breakfast, with its limited choice and rather uncomfortable atmosphere.

Everyone was so polite and friendly, and really tried to make us comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and very generous, with loads of tasty choices. The room was spotless, the bed and bedding were perfect, and the heating worked really well, which mattered in the cold weather. Fantastic hotel in the BEST location. We’ll definitely come back!

This place may have been nice in the 80s, but it isn’t now. There was thick dust behind things, and it felt like they only did surface cleaning and ineffective patch repairs instead of properly maintaining the property. None of our rooms had working A/C, and we had problems with plumbing and water fixtures, including leaks or spray, drains that didn’t work, and blocked toilets. Some TVs and lights were broken too. Service wasn’t good either. The employees were kind of rude, and nasty signs with rules were everywhere. It felt like they were being cheap and couldn’t be bothered to fix broken or outdated things. Don’t stay here unless you have to.

My room was great, with big windows looking toward the mountains, and it’s just one street away from the beautiful city center. The hostess team were kind, respectful, and in a good mood throughout, and helped with everything I needed. I had a lovely stay and would definitely choose this place again when I return to Varese.
