Even after we paid for an “upgrade,” the stay was awful. Noise from traffic, street works, and people shouting carried on day and night, the sound insulation was poor, and the air conditioning was weak. The room was uncomfortable, the service disappointing, and the value was bad. We'd booked a “superior room,” but the tiny room we were given looked like a prison cell and was completely different from the photos online. When we refused it, the hotel suddenly said we'd only booked a standard room. After a long discussion, they offered an upgrade, but only for an extra charge. It felt like a way to get more money from us on arrival. If you want to sleep and get what you paid for, don't book here. Definitely never again for us.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was great. It's a 3 star hotel. The bar is minimal, but there's another place just across the car park where you can get food and beer.

I loved the breakfast room, which feels beautiful and traditional, and the room may be the cleanest hotel room I've ever stayed in. The hotel is also near all the good places in Varese, and the reception staff are very polite and eager to help. I definitely recommend it. Don't miss Princi, the beautiful cat. If you're lucky, she might let you pet her too.

We were very disappointed and left after one night, even though we'd booked two. They refunded the second night, but wouldn't discount the first, despite there being no hot water for a shower. When we arrived, we were told the hot water would be back in the morning, but there still wasn't any then. The free parking and the location were the only good things about the hotel for me. The bathroom in my single room smelled, and the toilet flush barely worked. In another room, the sink drained very slowly.

The location is great, the room is good, and breakfast has lots of variety. The chocolate cake was the best cake I've ever tasted. The staff are very friendly, especially the woman serving breakfast. The only drawback was the very weak air conditioning.
