As a student visiting Italy for the first time, I stayed here for more than a week and felt really comfortable. It’s close to the station, and public transport gets you to Venice or Mestre city center in just a few minutes. The people working there were so welcoming and kind, they treated me like family. I really enjoyed the stay.
Room #3 was the quietest of the three rooms, with less noise from the street and people checking in or out. If you’re a light sleeper, that may be the best option. It smelled like an old building when we first entered, but airing it out cleared the smell. The blinds blocked the light well, so we slept fine. The shared bathroom stayed surprisingly clean, and staff took out the bathroom trash when we asked through WhatsApp. We arrived around 11pm and contacted staff on WhatsApp to have the door opened. We’d expected a large building, but it’s an apartment with three rooms. After checkout, we could leave our bags for an extra fee of 5 euros by messaging staff. In my opinion, it can be a good stay if you communicate any problems. The staff member was responsive and dealt with our concerns right away. The location is handy, close to Mestre station and several reasonably priced restaurants and bakeries.
I was disappointed by how poorly maintained everything felt. The hairdryer broke in my hand and nearly exploded, which was dangerous. There are three rooms for around 7-8 people, sharing one kitchen, but it had almost no utensils, just three mismatched glasses, and no kettle or stove. The floor creaked loudly with every step and woke people in the other rooms. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
We booked this at the last minute and found the apartment clean and pleasant. Communication with staff was quick and easy. Since we arrived after midnight, there was a late check-in fee of 10€. It’s right opposite Venezie Mestre train station. The apartment has three shared rooms, one bathroom, and two toilets. There’s also a kitchen with a balcony, though we didn’t use either, so I’m not including them in my review. Don’t mind the bags, those were ours.
Happy Stay Mestre was a really unpleasant experience. The place was dirty and felt unsafe, and the website photos were misleading. Check-in and checkout were a nightmare because service was shockingly slow. Repairs seemed to be ignored, and the decor was outdated. The amenities were very basic, with no decent Wi-Fi or extras. They charged a higher city tax than normal, wouldn’t take card payments, and refused to provide a receipt. I’ve stayed in budget motels that were better. Beware if you’re considering staying here.
