Hotel Nice

The bathroom was probably the best part: it looked newly renovated and had a skylight that made it feel bright and airy. The room was clean and had air conditioning, though the bed was very uncomfortable and the carpets were worn. I was already upset by then, so that may have affected how I felt about the room. My boyfriend and I had booked through a hostel booking site, where the price was stated. When we arrived at Nice Hotel, they added €25, saying I had booked for only one person. The receptionist was brash and wouldn’t budge, and since it was so late, we ended up paying. Even from the lobby, I felt we were paying far too much. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The beds were on wheels and kept rolling around when we tried to sleep. There were three twin beds squeezed into a room that seemed large enough for one full-size bed, so there was barely space to move. The Wi-Fi was weak and hardly worked. We paid over 105 euros a night for a basement room with no proper shower and mold on the ceilings. The staff were extremely unfriendly. It’s far from the island of Venice, in an area that felt sketchy and unpleasant. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’d highly recommend never staying here.

The room we were given was in the attic, and it wasn’t what we had paid for at Alla Bianca Hotel. The staff here were friendly, and the hotel itself was decent. My low rating is because they make these arrangements with other hotels that treat their clients badly.

The owner made fun of Asian people in front of my Asian wife, and check-in was very chaotic. Our ground-floor room was just three meters from reception and looked out onto the parking area. The air conditioning barely did anything. There was one bedside table and one broken lamp, an open shower with no enclosure, and a blocked sink. The bed was very thin and uncomfortable. Not that “Nice”.
