Hotel President Venezia

The staff were friendly and did what they could to help, but they couldn't get rid of the horrible, disgusting smell coming from my room. It ended up ruining my stay.

There’s free parking here, and the tram stop is just around the corner for a direct ride into Venice. It’s a nice option if you want to stay just outside the main island. The rooms are spacious and the service is fine. Just note there’s no iron in the room, you have to go down to the ground floor for one.

The food was really nice, and the water was the best I’ve had at a hotel. The tram to Venice is only a short walk away. I’d only stay here again if it were the cheapest option, though. I left my clothes on the bed and came back to find them moved onto a chair, with the bed made. My shirt was missing, and I only realized after leaving that it wasn’t in my luggage. I never found one of my favorite shirts again. The heating was strange too: I set it to warm, but cold air filled the room.

Breakfast had a small selection of snacks and other items, but it was decent and gave us energy for the day. The location was good for the price, with a bus station around the corner and a short bus or tram ride to venezia. We stayed for two nights and enjoyed both. It was quiet, the beds were very comfortable, and the room had a lovely romantic feel. The TV worked, too. Both receptionists were helpful, spoke and understood English very well, and were lovely to deal with. The room did have a couple of shortcomings: instead of a proper shower door there was a curtain, which was fairly slimy when we arrived around 8pm, and the tea and coffee that were supposed to be there weren't.
