Rosa Garden B&B

A very clean, excellent place to stay. Guests have the things they might need, including toiletries, a kitchen and a laundry machine.

The hotel was clean and conveniently close to the train station, bus stop and restaurants. We stayed two nights, 8-9 August, and since our flight to Paris was on Friday evening, we left our luggage at the check-in office. It’s harder for me to praise the host. He wanted us out by 10 am, and when I came back for our bags, he was reluctant to let me use the sink in the common area.

The manager deserves a thumbs up for the service and being available whenever needed. During my week-long stay, the rooms were clean and hygienic, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and there was privacy, a common kitchen with everything available, and safe parking at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit Venice. I’ll definitely stay again on my next vacation there.

The beds were awful. We stayed at ten properties during our vacation, and this was the only mattress that left me waking up sore. We won’t be back at Rosa Garden B&B. We arrived late in the evening at the start of August 2025, and the host quickly let us in when we used the intercom. We’re a family of three and had booked a triple room with a private bathroom, one full bed and one twin. The host said it wasn’t available and put us in a larger room with enough beds for 4-5 people instead. That seemed fine until he told us we’d have to move to a triple room midway through the three-night stay. Overbooking guests and making them switch rooms partway through is shameful. The replacement room wouldn’t be ready until later in the day, and he seemed surprised I wouldn’t be around in the late morning or midday to move. People staying in Mestre generally head to Venice early, spend the day there and come back late. Nobody wants to abandon sightseeing and travel back to Mestre just to move their bags. I also asked about the private parking advertised in the booking.com listing. It even included a quote from the host saying, “Private parking is available on site (reservation is not needed) and costs € 10 per day.” He told me there was no private parking, and the lot down the street was full or closed. He suggested parking on the street and paying the meter for the whole day, since local police ticket people shortly after paid parking starts in the morning. We picked this property over other places in Mestre partly because it advertised private parking. It felt like that claim was just a lie to increase sales. On the morning we were meant to switch rooms, we packed before heading to Venice. I started moving our bags to the rental car, but the host suggested leaving them in the new room, which would be cleaned later. I wasn’t comfortable with that, so he showed me a large locked armoire in the room. I put our bags inside, locked it and took the key with me. The host gave me the new room keys, and we went to Venice. Luckily, I’d secured the bags. When we returned that evening, the room door was ajar and unlocked. Anyone could have walked in and taken our things if I’d left them out as the host first suggested. There’s no excuse for leaving the door open. The listing also claims private parking, which is bad enough, but calling the place Rosa Garden B&B when breakfast isn’t included felt deceitful too. B&B has a clear meaning, and there was no breakfast.
